Do you ever feel like you’re talking to an empty room?

Go beyond engagement and unlock the power of Community

ProBlogger's Build Community Course

Are you increasing your audience or are you building a community?

Do you have a casual group of readers or a mob of raving fans?

Imagine the difference an engaged community would bring to every aspect of your blog: creating content, finding readers, making money...

Darren Rowse

ProBlogger

There is no single way to build a successful blog, but in my experience a blog really comes alive when there is at least some level of community on and around your blog.

When I launched Digital Photography School (my main blog) in 2006 I launched it without comments being activated on the blog. This was an experiment to see what impact not having comments would have on a new blog.

I quickly discovered that starting a blog this way had quite a few negative impacts upon the site – the main one being that not having reader feedback just felt plain weird and left ME as the blogger thirsting for interaction with readers. I guess I’d become used to getting readers engagement on my other blogs and without it just felt ‘wrong’ for my style of blogging.

Within a few weeks I’d not only turned comments back on at dPS but was already working towards starting a photography forum on the site too!

The impact of adding more and more opportunity for community engagement on the site was immediate and big. Page views went up, repeat/loyal readership increased, the quality of the site improved and monetization opportunities opened up.

15 years on, Digital Photography School is still going strong because we have a thriving community of readers.

One of the most common questions that I hear from bloggers is:

“How do I get my readers to interact with me?”

But WHY would you want readers to interact with you?

Well, interaction and engagement with your readers increases your blog’s relevance and usefulness. There’s also social proof - people attract people in all kinds of places, a blog is no exception.

If you have reader engagement and a community on your blog you will get more page views and attract more advertisers. Having a community will make it easier for you to create and sell products and makes your blog more attractive to sell, if you ever wanted to.

Your blog community will also form an army of advocates and evangelists to attract even more readers to your blog. And the culture of community can help with user generated content.

You’ll also find that community brings more personal satisfaction to your blog with readers that support, encourage and sustain your blogging.

All successful blogs are communities and if you want to turn your blog into something special, something that will grant you financial freedom, and something that will help countless people then you must create a community out of your blog.

I loved the Problogger training - a wealth of information but very easy to understand... I felt much more confident that I can achieve my goals, with a clearly laid out path provided by Darren. The training was very generous for the price paid. Bonus was meeting Jeff Goins.

Attendees to the ProBlogger Training Day (where I recorded my teaching session) paid $199 each for the ticket, before any travel, food and accommodation costs. Here you’ve got sessions from two other ProBlogger Events including a Masterclass ($999/person).

I’ve also seen other online courses on blog engagement sell for this much and more $$$.

Or, you have to sign up to an even more expensive monthly subscription to access the kind of information I’m giving you in this course.

Even the cheap courses on increasing engagement often charge double what I do, but provide you with far less useful information.

Because I am dedicated to helping other bloggers learn the skills of blogging, share their own experiences and promote the blogging medium, my view on pricing has always been to make things as affordable and accessible as possible in order to benefit the greatest number of people I can.

This is why
ProBlogger’s Build Community Course is only $49 USD.

And this is why at checkout, you’ll be given the opportunity to upgrade your purchase (+$50 USD) and get ALL Four Pillars of Blogging Courses which covers everything you need to build a profitable blog:

  1. Create Content
  2. Find Readers
  3. Build Community
  4. Make Money
